Welcome to Tidewater Way.
For generations, the coast of Maine has drawn artists, writers,
naturalists and seekers of faith. Sarah Orne Jewett called Maine,
"the country of the pointed firs," and this image still speaks to what
one sees and feels along a coastal tidal river. This is a habitat
for those to come away to receive rest and solitude. It is a
place where the rhythm of the tides shapes a call to prayer.

Tidewater Way is a small retreat on the north
branch of the John's River three miles above the swinging bridge in the
working port of South Bristol. Ours is a ministry of
hospitality. Following Pam and John's retirement from thirty
years of parish ministry, Tidewater Way began in 2007 as a place for
personal retreats and in 2010 we have expanded our space
in order to accommodate fourteen for group retreats. The ministry
continues year-round and we invite your inquiry.
